According to reports, the company’s first batch of true wireless earbuds, OnePlus Buds, faced problems complained by many users, who complained that the left earpiece was malfunctioning. Various user reports on the company’s official forum indicate that the problem is widespread, and OnePlus has not yet issued a statement on this. Some users also stated that they received replacement parts after reporting the problem to the OnePlus service center, but the problem still exists, and even after receiving the problem, even the replacement part encountered a problem.
A report by Android Police indicated that the problem is widespread and that various users have problems in different ways. In some cases, the left earpiece seems to be malfunctioning, but it can be temporarily fixed by resetting the headset, although the problem surfaced again a few days later. In other cases, the left earpiece will completely fail. Even the replacement unit cannot work in a similar way.
However, it seems generally reported that the problem is caused by the left earphone of the OnePlus Buds, while the right earphone still seems to work. This indicates that this may be a software-related problem, although according to the Android Police report, the OnePlus service center and customer service center have informed many users that this is a hardware defect. This issue was reported as early as September 15, but it seems to be more common now.
The company recently launched OnePlus Buds Z earbuds at a price of Rs. 2,999 in India. The new earbuds are suitable for in-ear wear and have basically the same specifications as the more expensive OnePlus Buds, but in our reviews, we found that the newer and more affordable earbuds are generally much better. OnePlus may be using OnePlus Buds to fix the problem permanently, but there is no confirmation yet.
