The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to make some roster changes. With just days left until teams finalize their rosters for the remaining games, the defending NBA champions have already made their final changes within the group.

The Thunder have added a new face to their corps of two-way players. When they found an NBA opportunity elsewhere, they also lost another face to another team.

Here’s a look at the players the Thunder added, the players they gave up to make the move work, and the players they lost that they really liked but couldn’t figure out roster logistics:

Thunder acquire Peyton Sandford

According to ESPN reporter Shams Charania, the Thunder have included Peyton Sandford on a two-way deal. They signed him as an undrafted rookie out of Iowa last offseason. He played for the Thunder Blue Team. He underwent double shoulder surgery, which caused him to miss the entire offseason and the first few months of the G League’s 2025-26 regular season.

Sandford played 21 games in the Development League this season, averaging 11 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting 36.3% from the field. He took 7.8 three-pointers and shot 32.3% from the field.

Who do they cut to make room?

To make room, the Thunder waived Boeheim. His tenure with the Thunder ended after just four games. He enjoyed another cup of coffee in the NBA as he filled a two-way spot that had been vacant for weeks. Of the three two-way players, he’s the one most deserving of moving on.

Carlson has 12 games left. But he is dealing with a back strain. Barnhizer and Carlson received the actual minutes of the meeting. Boeheim will likely return to the Blues for the final month of the regular season.

Chris Youngblood joins Trail Blazers

The Thunder also lost one of their best G-League players. The Portland Trail Blazers have signed Chris Youngblood to a two-way deal, according to ESPN’s Charania. They added him last offseason as an undrafted rookie out of Alabama.

Youngblood killed it for the Thunder in summer league and the preseason. He ended up winning the final two-way seat next to Barnhizer and Karlsson. He played in 32 games this season before his two-way eligibility expired. Since then, he has dominated the Blues Development League.

This season, Youngblood played 17 games in the Development League, averaging 20.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, while shooting 43.8% from the field. He took 9.1 three-pointers and shot 34.2% from the field. He now has a chance to finish out the final month-plus of Portland’s regular season.
