The NFL has completed its investigation into Rashee Rice, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
The league’s investigation comes after Rice’s ex-girlfriend filed a civil lawsuit in February accusing Rice of abusing her for more than a year. The NFL found on Friday that the Kansas City Chiefs receiver did not violate the league’s personal conduct policy, citing “insufficient evidence,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Schefter.

Based on that conclusion, Rice will not be subject to league disciplinary action.
“Mr. Rice would like to thank the NFL for its thorough investigation and looks forward to the start of the 2026-27 NFL season,” Rice’s attorney, Sean Lindsey, said in a statement to Schefter.
In the lawsuit, which seeks $1 million in damages, Rice’s ex-husband, Dacoda Jones, claims the recipient physically abused her from approximately December 2023 to July 2025, including during her pregnancy. Rice and Jones have two children.
Rice was suspended six games by the league in 2025 after pleading guilty to a 2024 multi-vehicle crash in Dallas. Last summer, he was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days in jail, although the charges would have been dropped if he met probation conditions.

Rice was sued by two accident victims for $1 million, which she later settled. However, an attorney for one of the plaintiffs said in July that his clients had not yet been paid.
Rice’s 2025 season ended prematurely when the receiver was placed on the injured list with a concussion in December.
