The Atlanta Falcons will continue their European tour in 2026 after playing in Germany last season. The NFL announced Tuesday that the Falcons will be one of the teams competing in Madrid, Spain, next season.
The Falcons confirmed the news, releasing a picture featuring the team’s logo in front of some famous landmarks. The team will play at the Santiago Bernabeu, home of Real Madrid.
Further details about the game, including date, time and Falcons opponent, have not yet been revealed. So far, most of the NFL’s international announcements have gone this way. The league promises to provide more details when the full schedule is released.

Following the news, the league has now announced that at least one team will participate in every international match next season. The NFL will play a record nine international games in the 2026 season. Only one of those games – to be played in Australia – has been confirmed by both teams. The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers will take part in this game.
So far, both NFL teams will participate in multiple international games in 2026. The 49ers will also play in Mexico in 2026. The Jacksonville Jaguars will play three international games next season, although all three games will be in London.
The NFL has slowly rolled out teams for international competition next season. In late February, the league confirmed the Detroit Lions would be one of the teams playing in Germany.
