On Monday, former cricket player Akash Chopra congratulated Indian all-rounder Ravi Chandran Ashwin as the third-highest wicket in the country’s cricket test. Ashwin achieved this feat in the second inning of the first test underway at Kanpur Green Park Stadium in New Zealand. He surpassed the 417 wickets that revolved the great Harbhajan Singh and reached the milestone. Former Indian batsman Koo wrote: “418. The third highest wicket in the Indian test. An incredible feat. One of the biggest tournament winners produced in India. The next stop is 500.”
Before the first test, Ashwin needed 5 wickets to beat Harbhajan in the elite roster. After winning three wickets in the first game, Ashwin defeated New Zealand deputy captain Tom Latham to achieve this feat.
Only Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev scored more wickets for India than the 35-year-old white player. Kumble has recorded 619 scalps in 132 tests, while former Indian captain Kapil Dev has recorded 434 wickets in 131 appearances.
India is in a good position in the Kanpur Test and is aiming for victory after Kane Williamson’s team quickly lost wickets.

After trying to shut out the Indian bowler in the first game of the fifth day, the New Zealand batsman collapsed under pressure as the Indian spinner led by Ashwin weaves their magic.
Currently, New Zealand is 138/7 and still requires 146 runs to win. So far, Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have won three and two wickets, respectively, while Axar Patel and Umesh Yadav also have a scalp.
