disney plus loki s2 promo 1675750724774

Disney+ showcased a new look at upcoming seasons of Loki, Secret Invasion and more by highlighting hit titles releasing on the platform in 2023. The brief footage from Rocky season 2 gave us a glimpse of the Mischief God (Tom Hiddleston) using magic and thrusting spears into ancient mosaics. It’s hard to say what the latter means, but we’ve known since the end of season one that Loki is now trapped in another Time Zone Administration (TVA), and Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) doesn’t even know him. At the end of “Secret Invasion,” we got a whole new look at Don Cheadle’s Colonel Rhodes, while “The Mandalorian” season 3 Pedro Pascal embark on an journey.

Of the two Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, Secret Invasion will be the first to land on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. Set for release in early 2023, the series follows Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) as he forms a team to fight the Skrulls, a faction of shapeshifting aliens invading Earth. The inclusion of Rhodes (Cheadle) in the promo and a brief piece of dialogue in an early trailer begs the question of whether this version is actually a Skrull in disguise. That said, it’s clear that the real deal will be in the Armored Warfare film, originally planned as a limited series.

Rocky season 2, on the other hand, promises more space-time adventures for our duo, Loki (Hiddleston) and Morbius (Wilson). Last year’s trailer hinted at the pair going back in time — in a tuxedo, with the Mischief God joking with two other versions of him. It’s also worth noting that TVA has taken control of the hostile variant Kang the Conqueror since the stabbing of Dovi’s “survivor” (Jonathan Majors) in the first season, and he’ll make his first appearance in Ants -Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, due out on February 17th. Loki Season 2 is targeting a summer release.

From a galaxy far, far away, there isn’t any new footage to watch — a few clips from last month’s The Mandalorian season 3 trailer. In the new season, Din Djarin (Pascal) and would-be Jedi Grogu/Baby Yoda embark on a space journey to Mandalore so the former can restore his title and honor. A previous teaser suggested that Jarin lost his right to call himself a Mandalorian after removing his helmet and revealing his face. The Mandalorian season 3 is coming to Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar on March 1.

Which brings us to the live-action Peter Pan and Wendy remake by renowned genre filmmaker David Lowery (green knight). The promo shows bravado pirates fighting on board, as well as them soaring through the skies. The studio previously released a poster for the film at Disney’s D23 Expo.

Upcoming Hulu releases

We also got to see some footage of some upcoming Hulu originals, with Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult starring in Season 3 of the satirical period drama The Great. Currently, there is no word on whether the show will land on Disney+ Hotstar in India. New titles include “The Boston Strangler,” in which Keira Knightley (The Imitation Game) defies all odds in her pursuit of a serial killer.

Then there’s Tiny Beautiful Things, led by Kathryn Hahn, about a writer who becomes an advice columnist while her own life is falling apart. Also launching this is a limited series adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations.
