Netflix released a trailer for season 3 of “Never Have You Ever” on Wednesday, teasing the ups and downs the new couple will experience, now that Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet) are officially an item .
In the season 3 trailer I’ve never seen before, with plenty of steamy makeup, Paxton and Devi take their romance to the next level, but not without a few bumps along the way— Whether it’s funny moments like when Devi’s shirt gets stuck on her head and she’s trying to take it off, or everyone’s eyes are putting increasing pressure on her.
Devi asked her friends before another video of her and Paxton highlighted the insecurities in their relationship. “We’re believable together, right?”
In the Never Have I Ever season 3 trailer, Paxton admits to Devi that he likes her. In response, Devi said: “Yeah, but why? No one thinks we have any meaning.”
“No, you don’t think we mean anything,” Paxton corrected her.
True to Mindy Kaling’s creative side, the Never Have I Ever season 3 trailer showcases several messy and tender moments.
But the phrase “be careful what you crave” sounds about right, as it not only points to Devi and Ben Gross’s (Jaren Lewison) ever-present connection, but also a potential new romantic interest that could be shed An already unbalanced dynamic love triangle.
The Never Have I Ever season 3 trailer ends with Anirudh Pisharody as Des, who contrasts with what Devi knows about him.
“It’s too hot,” says Devi’s cousin, Kamala Nandiwadal (Richa Moorjani), and the teen’s mother, Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar (Poorna Jagannathan), agrees. “very hot!”
“Let’s see what the human body can do, baby!” Devi enthuses as the Season 3 trailer draws to a close.
Never Have I Ever was renewed for two seasons last March, with a fourth season wrapping up the Netflix series and slated for release in 2023.
A month later, Kaling shared why she thought it would be best for the series to end after season 4.
In an interview in April, Carlin said, “The fourth season of a high school show feels like a lot. They can’t be in high school forever. We’ve seen those shows. It’s like, you’ve been in high school for 12 years. What’s going on here ?
“Also, the actors are getting older, and a 34-year-old actor playing a 15-year-old is starting to look crazy,” she added.
Netflix head of global television Bela Bajaria said in a press release that the streamer is “thrilled” with the comedy’s final two chapters.
“We’re thrilled to have two more seasons of Never Have I Ever. It’s everything we want in a Netflix comedy series: real, specific, funny and full of heart. I love this story that’s close to me – about a young man , Indian American Girl – touches on many universal truths that can resonate with almost everyone.
“We are eternally grateful to Mindy, Lang, and the talented cast. We can’t wait for everyone to see the final two seasons,” Bajaria said in a statement.
Never Have I Ever Season 3 premieres August 12 on Netflix.
