NASA has released the sound of a black hole that can be heard by the human ear. According to a report in Mashable, the black hole is located 200 light-years away in the Perseus galaxy cluster. Black holes are extremely dense objects whose gravitational pull is so strong that not even light can escape. Audio of the sound of the black hole has been posted by NASA on its Twitter account, which also explains how the sound travels in a vacuum.
“The misconception that there is no sound in space stems from the fact that most of space is empty and cannot provide a path for sound waves to travel. Galaxy clusters contain so much gas that we have picked up the actual sound. Here it is amplified and compared with other data , to hear black holes,” NASA said on its Twitter account dedicated to exoplanets.

The sound of this clip is similar to rumbling and moaning, similar to strange things Interlude, but it’s actually a pressure wave rippling through the heat. This eerie, frightening, and mysterious sound is often heard in sci-fi movies about space travel.
The sound was created from data captured by NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, and the recording was originally released in May of this year.
Last month, astronomers discovered a dormant black hole in a galaxy near our own Milky Way. They say it appears to have been born without a dying star exploding.
The giant void discovered in the Tarantula Nebula region of the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy differs from all other known black holes in that it is “X-ray quiet” – not emitting the powerful X-rays that would suggest eating nearby matter, scientists say The radiation has a strong gravitational pull — and it wasn’t born in a stellar explosion called a supernova.
It is about 160,000 light-years from Earth. A light-year is the distance light travels in a year (about 9.5 trillion kilometers).
