Monica, O My Darling is slated for release in November. In a Tudum Fall 2022 preview blog post, Netflix unveiled its guidelines for upcoming series and movies. Among this list is the newly released Vasan Bala detective comedy Dear Monica. While Netflix didn’t reveal specific dates for some of the later entries in the roster, fans can look forward to seeing the Rajkummar Rao-led flick sometime in November. Netflix released the trailer for Monica, My Darling on Tuesday after screenings at its Mumbai Movie Day event.
Barra — best known for co-writing Bombay Velvet — described the film as a neo-noir in which a “perfect plan” for an illegal act erupts into utter chaos in the lives of those involved. In Monica, O My Darling, the act is murder, the over-sharing Rao (Lust Stories) intends to commit. The minute-long trailer for Monica, O My Darling is fairly vague on plot details, highlighting only a few discussions with the other main characters.

One such figure is Huma Qureshi (Army of the Undead), who appears to be running some sort of organized crime operation. Robot expert Rao has come up with the perfect murder plan that leaves no trace of DNA behind. The official synopsis bears that out, detailing “robots smashing human skulls,” along with other thematic elements of lust, blackmail, and betrayal. Joining the program was Radhika Apte, who delivered a unique accent for the role. Not much is known about her character, though Dear Monica saw her reunite with screenwriter Yogesh Chandekar. The two had previously collaborated on Andhadhun.
Monica, O My Darling also stars Sikandar Kher (Zoya Factor) as a comedy follower, Bagavathi Perumal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Sukant Goel (Dobaaraa) and Zayn Marie Khan.
In addition to Monica, O My Darling, the Tudum blog post also lists a slew of titles coming to the streaming platform this fall. First up, we have our fifth martial arts-focused comedy, Cobra Kai 5, which hits theaters September 9. Rounding out the month will be Ana de Armas-led Blonde, directed by Andrew Dominik. The film, a fictional biopic of the late actress Marilyn Monroe, will be available on Netflix on September 28.
Then, on October 21, we have Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Treasures, which is an anthology series. In November, “Enola Holmes 2,” starring Millie Bobbie Brown, opens November 4. Season 5 of the aforementioned Monica, Darling, and The Crown is also scheduled for November, though no firm date has been set yet.
