A 35-year-old Missouri woman who disappeared while picking up her children last week has died in a traffic accident.
The Miller County, Missouri, Coroner’s Office announced in a press release that authorities responded to a motor vehicle collision in the early hours of Monday, February 2, on Route 54 near Hauser Road where Amanda Rogers’ body was located.
“Ms. Rogers’ vehicle was located off the roadway and obscured by a fallen tree, making it difficult to observe from the roadway,” the coroner’s office said. “The vehicle was discovered by a Miller County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was actively searching the area.”
The coroner’s office added in a statement that foul play or suspicious circumstances are not suspected and the incident appears to be an accidental motor vehicle collision.
The Camden County Sheriff’s Office issued a dangerous person warning to Rogers, who went missing on Jan. 26, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol alert on Saturday, Jan. 31.
Authorities said Rogers left the Eldon area to pick up the children in the Camdenton area but never arrived.
The Camden County Sheriff’s Office said in its advisory that Rogers was driving a 2003 tan Chevrolet Malibu.
The coroner’s office said it is investigating the death along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
