The Minnesota Vikings enter Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys with nothing to lose. They had a unique situation against the Cowboys after being eliminated from the playoffs with a win over the Chicago Bears earlier in the day. They ended up taking advantage of their opportunities without taking any chances, which was one of the most impressive performances from the entire team.
In looking back at their performance, CBS Sports’ John Breech graded each team starting in Week 15. For the Vikings, they earned one of their highest A- grades of the season.

He wrote, “JJ McCarthy actually looked like a potential franchise quarterback on Sunday night, with easily his most impressive performance of the season. McCarthy threw for a career-high 250 yards and made multiple big plays, including a 23-yard pass on fourth-and-3 and a 58-yard pass on third-and-eight. The second-year quarterback also finished with 1 The touchdown run fooled the entire Cowboys defense in what has been a painful season for the Vikings (6-8), but this could end up being a game that gives everyone in Minnesota a glimmer of hope for the future.
JJ McCarthy showed off some impressive throws and tenacious defense against the Cowboys. He had a few miscues, but the impressive performance far outweighed the poor performance we saw at times. Most importantly, the Vikings defense flexed but never broke, and they showed themselves in the process with the addition of some depth pieces.
All in all, the Vikings had a solid prime-time performance and now head into Week 16 against the New York Giants.
