New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel appreciated the aggressiveness his team displayed on defense in Monday night’s win over the New York Giants.
This unit had many early hits and set the tone for the game. At the center of it all was Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss, who was the team’s leading tackler with 10 total tackles. On one play, he called a penalty on Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, who was trying to gain more yards on the run.

Ellis accelerated across the field at an angle and blasted Dart out of bounds.
“I appreciate the aggressiveness they showed… We talked about the offense; ‘If they’re going to run the quarterback or run a tight end… sometimes the best answer is violence.’ Some guys just go with that. It’s good to see,” Vrabel said after the game, via ESPN’s Mike Rice.
The style of football the Patriots play makes them an extremely dangerous opponent for any team in the NFL.
That same effort will be needed more than ever when they return from the bye week and face back-to-back games against the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens down the stretch.
