NEW YORK (AP) — Madison Square Garden will host the 140-pound championship match between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson.
The showdown has been announced, but the website wasn’t released until Monday. Ring Magazine owner Turki Alalshikh has taken two of his previous cards in New York to unusual locations before the card heads to one of boxing’s famed venues.

Last May, Lopez held a card fight outdoors in Times Square. Two months later, Stevenson defended his lightweight title with a victory at Louis Armstrong Stadium inside the USTA’s Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, home of the U.S. Open.
Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs), who hails from nearby Newark, New Jersey, will move up in weight to face Lopez (21-1, 13 KOs), a New York native who will defend his title for the fourth time.
