In March, Luka Doncic played some of the most sustained basketball in recent memory. That month, he averaged 37.5 points, 8 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 2.3 steals per game, shooting 49.2% from the field and 39.2% from three-point range. He hit the 40-point mark seven times in March and scored 60 points for the third time in his career on March 19 against the Miami Heat.
Even better, the Lakers went 15-2 that month and are now close to third in the Western Conference. For this sensational game, Doncic was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Month for March.
This season, Doncic averaged a league-high 33.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game. While he’s unlikely to actually win the award, he’s already in the MVP conversation.

He’ll have another chance to make a loud statement Thursday when he and his team take on the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center. The two teams will face off again next Tuesday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
