Google announced the launch of an entertainment space for Android tablets, which can manage tailored content in one place, including movies, TV shows, video games and books from various platforms. This new one-stop personalized space can essentially provide an Android TV-like experience on Android tablets. Kids Space, launched last year, is recommended for children under 9 years old. Entertainment Space can meet the needs of “other family members”. Google said that compared with 2019, the number of people starting to use Android tablets in 2020 has increased by more than 30%.
According to Google’s blog post, the entertainment space will be available on Walmart onn. The tablet will be available in the US starting this month. Google said it will roll out new and selected Android tablets such as Lenovo and Sharp globally later this year.
The entertainment space will save time and help users avoid switching between apps to watch, play or read. Google said: “After logging in to the subscription application, the entertainment space will show you your content in one place and tailor it for you.” If multiple members of the family use the same tablet, the user can also have a personalized personal information.
Entertainment Space has three tabs at the top, allowing users to quickly choose whether to watch content, play games or read books. In the “Watch” tab, users can switch between subscribed streaming services, find movies, TV shows or videos, and rent or buy from Google TV. It also provides a “continue watching” line (such as the Android TV interface and the interface of most OTT apps) to quickly resume playback from where you left off.
In the “Games” tab, users can install and play games from the Google Play Store. Just like in the “Watch” tab, it will also have a “Resume” line. The third is the “Read” tab, which will allow users to read books. This section will organize your existing e-books and e-books you purchased from the Google Play store. In addition, users can also listen to audiobooks through the “Read” tab in the entertainment space.
