A Kentucky man has been arrested and charged in the death of his wife in Bullitt County.
Richard Cheschel faces charges of murder, domestic violence, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Officers from the Mount Washington Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Williamsburg Court just after 9 p.m. Friday.
Arrest Records State officers arrived to find Cheshe standing in front of an open garage door with blood on his clothes, hands and face.
When Cheschel allegedly saw police, police said they noticed a body on the garage floor that appeared to be covered in blood.
Police identified the person on the ground as Richard’s wife, Bonnie Cheschel. Police said Bonnie was beaten beyond recognition.
They determined Richard attacked Bonnie at the home and said they found “a large stick-like piece of wood” with blood on it. They believe she was wrapped in a garden hose and dragged into the garage because police found “stains of blood.”
Their initial investigation also revealed that a truck was parked in the garage and a ramp to the truck was built with wooden planks to remove the body.
No one else was inside the house, and police determined Bonnie and Richard were the only two people living there.
Richard is being held without bail at the Bullitt County Detention Center.
