Reliance Jio on Friday announced the connection of seven cities, namely Shillong, Imphal, Aizawl, Agartala, Itanagar, Kohima and Dimapur, via its True 5G network, six in the Northeast Circle. States roll out 5G services.
True 5G is now available in 191 cities across the country, it said.
“By December 2023, Jio True 5G service will be available in every town and taluka in the northeastern states,” the company said in a statement shared with the exchange on Friday.
From tomorrow, the company said, from Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar), Manipur (Imphal), Meghalaya (Shillong), Mizoram (Aizawl), Nagaland (Kohima) Jio subscribers in seven cities across six states of India, Dimapur and Tripura (Agartala) will be invited to the Jio welcome offer, through which they can experience unlimited data at speeds up to 1 Gbps at no additional cost.
Among the many benefits of True 5G, Jio said healthcare has the potential to save lives in difficult times, even in the most remote areas thanks to its reliable wireless network.
In a statement, the company said revolutionary solutions such as the Jio Community Clinic medical suite, augmented reality-virtual reality (AR-VR) based healthcare solutions can improve the quality of healthcare in Indian cities and help bring quality medical infrastructure spread to the remotest regions of the country.
A Jio spokesperson said: “Jio is proud to announce the launch of True 5G services in all six states in the North East Circle starting today. This advanced technology will bring significant benefits to the people of the North East, especially reliable wireless networks in the healthcare sector. “
Furthermore, the spokesperson added that the network will strengthen various fields such as agriculture, education, e-government, IT, SMEs, automation, artificial intelligence, gaming, etc.
The spokesperson said that Jio True 5G has covered 191 cities in less than four months since its beta launch.
