Infosys on Wednesday announced a strategic cooperation with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop quantum computing functions and use cases. As part of the Infosys Cobalt cloud product, Infosys will use Amazon Braket to explore and build multiple use cases in quantum computing.

Bengaluru-based Infosys stated in a statement that Amazon Braket is a fully managed quantum computing service that helps scientists and developers start using the technology and accelerate research and discovery.

Infosys stated that it will seek to use Amazon Braket to build, test, and evaluate quantum applications on circuit simulators and quantum hardware technology.

The statement said: “With the continuous development of quantum technology, this will enable researchers and developers to experiment and study complex computational problems.”

“Enterprises will get use cases for rapid experiments and can explore how quantum computing can potentially help them in various fields in the future, evaluate new ideas and plan to adopt strategies to drive innovation,” it said.

The statement stated that Infosys uses Amazon Braket to prepare companies for the future where quantum computers will affect their business.

Infosys Emerging Technology Solutions Center (iCETS) focuses on the incubation of next-generation services and products. It is using Amazon Braket to develop quantum computing use cases for vehicle optimization and fraud detection.
