Indian developer Tathvamasi Studio has released a gameplay trailer for its upcoming PS5 and PC game Suri: The Seventh Note. The rhythm action platformer is also now wishlisted on the PlayStation Store and Steam. In addition, the developer also detailed the game’s DualSense functionality on PS5. Suri: The Seventh Note is set to launch in 2026 with support from Sony’s PlayStation India Heroes project.
Shuri: The Seventh Note releases game trailer
The gameplay trailer showcases Suri’s music- and rhythm-based platforming in a diverse, colorful 2D landscape inspired by Indian mythology. The game will feature challenging platforming sections that require precise input in sync with the game’s music.
According to the developers, “Suri: The Seventh Note” is set on the island of Suri, where music guides all aspects of life. You play as Ajira, a young girl on a mission to save her mother with the help of a magical fruit hidden on the island. However, Suri is a dangerous place because its music has been taken over by dark, corrupt rhythms. As Aguila, players must dance to its beats and accept challenges to find the fruit.
The world in a platformer changes and reacts with every beat, so navigation requires players to master the underlying rhythm. Platforms and enemies in Suri move to music, requiring players to time their jumps to the game’s soundtrack. Missing a beat causes the movement to lose fluidity. Suri will also feature cinematic escape scenes that require players to act quickly.
Tathvamasi shared Suri’s upcoming PS5-specific DualSense feature. The game’s “rhythm haptic engine” system requires players to hear the beat, see the beat, and feel the beat, the studio said. Therefore, DualSense haptics are crucial to the experience.
Suri: The Seventh Note has been in development for over a year as part of PlayStation’s Indian Heroes project. Tathvamasi shared a first look at gameplay back in September, showcasing the game’s rhythm-based platforming and movement capabilities.
The Indian rhythm platformer is also now wishlisted on Steam and PlayStation Store. While “Taswamasi” has yet to confirm a release date, “Suri: The Seventh Note” is expected to launch sometime in 2026.
