2021 will be both exciting and fun for gamers as we see a slew of games that keep us engaged. Many of us have had a chance to play some of the latest games this year – thanks to a culture of staying indoors and avoiding physical activity. From Epic Games to Sony Interactive Entertainment, major publishers have brought new games this year. But the growth in the number of games launched this year also makes it difficult to name the best games of 2021.

On this week’s episode of Orbital on the TechnologyShout podcast, host Akhil Arora joins lead associate editor and insider gaming enthusiast Shayak Majumder, as well as veteran Indian gaming journalist and our former gaming editor Rishi Alwani. The trio talks about all the games and which ones are the best games of 2021.

Rishi Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart his favorite game of the year, while Shayak named Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island Expansion his favorite, and Akhil named It Takes Two as his top pick.

One of the main reasons gamers consider 2021 to be an exciting year is the launch of several new games for the next generation of consoles – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X. This is also the one where the PlayStation 5 debuts in India years, although many are still struggling to get one.

The difficulty of buying next-gen consoles isn’t limited to Sony models, as people aren’t enough of the Xbox Series S|X on the market as well.

While supply-side constraints do exist, availability issues have also increased significantly in the market due to the high demand for both consoles. COVID-19 restrictions also played a role in demand, as people stayed indoors and had more leisure time to spend gaming.
