ICICI Bank is closed, and online banking, debit card transactions and UPI transactions are not available to many customers in India. Many affected customers have filed complaints about the social media disruption. Although some people cannot make any transactions through ICICI Bank’s online banking service, some of them have not even received the one-time password (OTP) for the transaction. This may be due to a sudden increase in demand due to e-commerce sales. Otherwise it may be another matter entirely, because ICICI is one of the largest banks in India, so shoppers who try to take advantage of these sales will be hit hard. At the time of writing, the ICICI Bank Support Team has not yet responded to customer complaints.
According to detailed information provided on the downtime tracking website DownDetector.in, a preliminary report of ICICI bank connection issues appeared in the morning, although the complaint peaked at around 1:30 pm.
Some affected customers reported problems with the ICICI Bank website and its iMobile app on Twitter. In some cases, people cannot receive the OTP of the transaction. The same is true for UPI and IMPS transmission. Some users also reported that the ICICI Bank server has been shut down since Thursday night.
Therefore, from the day before yesterday, ICICI’s server failed and transactions were affected. Is its website closed now? Is this the largest private bank in India? pic.twitter.com/qQZrAeRuYX

Gadget 360 can independently verify various issues reported by ICICI bank customers. When this story was submitted, the bank’s site was not even accessible. We tried online banking, debit card payment and UPI payment, and P2P UPI transfer on popular website platforms (such as Amazon, Swiggy and Zomato), and received the following alert in the latter case: “CBS not responding”.
ICICI Bank did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The suspension of ICICI Bank was when Amazon started the Great India Festival promotion. According to the live event of Prime members, the event will be open to ordinary customers from Saturday, and customers who use Amazon Pay ICICI cards can take advantage of additional cash back. However, it is not clear whether there is any correlation between the two events-whether it is due to Amazon sending a surge in demand or whether the bank finally abandoned the fire sale.
