Apple Music launches on Tuesday, and everyone can try it for free for three months to enjoy the service and see if it’s right for them. While Beats 1 Radio is free for life and should be available even if you’re not an Apple Music subscriber, if you sign up for Apple’s music streaming service (if you do, you’ll be asked to choose between an individual plan and a family plan), you’ll be automatically charged for renewal on the date your plan expires because Apple already has the credit card details you used when you created your iTunes account.
While the trial is free, you may receive an alert from your bank indicating that your card has been charged. This is usually a fictitious charge to check that your card is actually valid. Sometimes, new transactions on your iTunes account trigger billing of old charges – for example, we were charged Rs. One of the apps we purchased when we started our trial of Apple Music last week was priced at 120, something we’ve noticed before.

There’s a good chance you’re enjoying Apple Music right now, but it’s also possible you stopped using the service at some point during the free trial because you realized it wasn’t for you, or you might have forgotten about it entirely. Even if you stop using the service, you will be charged a renewal fee on the trial expiration date. Thankfully, there’s a very simple way to prevent this.

Don’t worry, if you continue to use Apple Music and find it’s worth your money, you can continue using the service even if auto-renewal is disabled. By disabling this feature now, you’re just giving yourself a safety net in case you stop using the service at some point in the future.
