The Indianapolis Colts will retain offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter through the 2026 NFL season.
Coote was interviewing for the New York Giants offensive coordinator position, but that position was reportedly going to Matt Nagy.

The Eagles also interviewed Coote for the offensive coordinator vacancy, but it was filled by Sean Mannion.
As a result, Coote will remain with the Colts and coach under head coach Sean Steichen.
While Coote already holds the title of offensive coordinator with the Colts, one possible difference between that role and the jobs with the Eagles and Giants is that those jobs will come with play-calling duties, giving Coote a boost in responsibility.
Steichen would still have to allow Coote to interview for those positions, because going from offensive coordinator to offensive coordinator — even with play-calling responsibilities — is considered a lateral move by the NFL.

This season, the Colts offense ranks eighth in points per game and eighth in yards per game.
Throughout the first half of the season, the Colts had one of the most efficient offenses in football, with a playbook that was difficult to defend.
Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo interviewed with the Titans and Giants in the offseason, sparking head coaching interest. But like Coote, he will return to Indianapolis for the 2026 season.
