At the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture reviewed the department's ongoing plan and instructed officials to prepare an action plan for the new fiscal year.
In instructing officials, the Minister of Agriculture said that Haryana has plenty of fish farming opportunities because the state's geography, saline and flooded areas are available; therefore, these areas should be used for fish farming.
The Minister said that by developing fisheries in the country, unemployed youth would also have sufficient employment opportunities. He said that in addition to preparing fish farms, processing units should be set up for storage and processing facilities in accordance with export standards. In addition, facilities for refrigerated trucks should be provided so that farmers can take their produce from their farms to large fish markets.
Mr. JP Dalal said at the commanding officer that in addition to the soil testing laboratories established in Mandis, water testing laboratories should be established in these Mandis to check water quality. He said a documentary about the success of farmers in fish farming should be produced in order to encourage and recognize young people.
