According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a research report, Apple plans to launch a redesigned MacBook model with internal silicon in the second half of 2021. Cupertino company launched the new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini earlier this month, thus beginning the transition from Intel processors to proprietary M1 chips. However, Apple did not make any design changes to the new model. However, there is a complete “fanless design” on the MacBook Air, which provides a silent but more powerful experience.
According to MacRumors, Kuo predicts that other Apple silicon-powered MacBook models launched next year will adopt a new design. These are different from the recently released M1 chip-based MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, which retain the old aesthetics.
Although Kuo did not specify in his notes which new models will be part of next year’s transition, he previously suggested redesigning the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
In addition to the new MacBook models, Kuo earlier speculated that Apple could bring an updated Mac desktop. These may include the rumored 24-inch iMac with the new design and the smaller version of the Mac Pro.
Guo also stated in his notes that the demand for the new iPad Air is “better than expected” and that growth will continue with the adoption of new technologies including mini-LED displays and 5G support next year. According to reports, he also mentioned that the new low-cost iPad may come out in the second half of next year. It may be the ninth generation iPad.
According to reports, Kuo predicts that in addition to other MacBook models and the new iPad, the third-generation AirPods may be launched at the end of the second quarter of next year. The new AirPods are considered similar to AirPods Pro, although they are unlikely to provide active noise reduction support.
Kuo earlier pointed out that AirPods 3 will be transformed into a canal installation, which is different from the periscope-shaped AirPods and AirPods (second generation). He also mentioned in previous notes that he won’t be able to upgrade to AirPods Pro until 2022. This shows that Apple can only upgrade its AirPods series once in the near future. Nevertheless, we can also use the ear-hook AirPods Studio headset as a new product in this series.
The latest note also mentioned: “New Apple Watch shipments in 2021 will benefit from innovative health management functions and improved shape design.” However, Guo Ming didn’t know whether he was referring to the future Apple Watch Series 7 or Apple Watch Series 6.
