TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest research report stated that Apple may launch its first iPad with Mini-LED display and AirPods 3 true wireless headphones in the first half of 2021. The research report to investors focuses on Taiwan’s OEM Career Technology. Ming Guo suggested that this technology will become a key supply chain partner for Apple’s upcoming product cycle. The new iPad and AirPods 3 are expected to be put into mass production in early 2021, and may be launched in the first half of this year.
Mini-LED display on the new iPad
According to a report by MacRumors, Kuo stated that Career Technology will receive orders for certain components related to Mini-LED iPad manufacturing, which will be put into mass production in the first half of 2021. This means that the release of the new iPad may be in the first half of 2021; a launch in March or April will not be difficult to imagine.
Mini-LED is a new display technology that uses many individual LEDs to generate images in a manner similar to OLED displays, thereby providing many advantages of OLEDs. Although each pixel is not independently controlled, the technology works in a similar way, and it is said that the manufacturing cost is also lower. Apple is expected to adopt Mini-LED display technology in many of its upcoming products from early 2021, starting with the iPad series.
Apple AirPods 3 is expected to be released in 2021
The report further pointed out that Ming Guo also expects Apple AirPods 3 to be launched in the first half of 2021. The design of the new true wireless headphones will differ from the Apple AirPods 2, with interchangeable earbuds and shorter rods, just like on the Apple Watch. AirPods Pro. However, the key differentiating factor is the lack of advanced features (such as active noise reduction) that will make AirPods Pro the flagship product among Apple’s true wireless audio products.
In addition to the Mini-LED iPad, Career Technology is expected to receive orders for AirPods 3 components, and it will also be possible to use Mini-LED displays on the next-generation iPhone. Kuo’s predictions point out that Mini-LED displays will be widely adopted by Apple in 2021, and analysts’ research and predictions are usually correct.
