Google Camera is being updated to version 8.1, which brings many features to the original Pixel 5, while the original Pixel phones can only use Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL. In contrast, the previous version of the Google Camera application 8.0 is limited to Pixel5. This update combines the audio zoom and movie panoramas of the old version of the phone with the new user interface (UI).
Now, old Pixel users can use Google Camera 8.1 version, and use the new UI for renovation. In the updated version, many functions of the Google Camera application in the bottom bar have been reorganized, and other functions (such as audio zoom to reduce background noise) and other zoom shortcuts have been added.
According to the 9to5Google report, although Cinematic Pan video recording function has been added, which is an image stabilization function for smoothly panning the lens, this function is only applicable to Pixel 4 and 4XL.
Google Camera 8.1 has begun to roll out through the Google Play Store, but the Google Camera Play Store listing has not yet shown the updated apps. This may be a phased rollout, so it may take some time for all users to get the latest version of the Google Camera app.
The report also pointed out that some users tried to load the updated version of the app horizontally, but this resulted in an error message related to verification, so Pixel users must wait patiently to get the latest camera features.
