Golden State Warriors jersey history – No. 44 – Clifford Rozier (1994-96)

The Golden State Warriors have had more than 600 players wear more than 60 jersey numbers throughout their rich and storied history spanning more than 75 years.

The team was founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA – the predecessor league to the NBA) era and was based in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego.

To honor the players who wore these numbers, Warriors Wire reports on the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who have worn them since the franchise’s inception. In this article, we start with No. 10 of the 16 players to wear No. 44 for the Warriors.

That player is Golden State Warriors big man Clifford Rozier. After finishing his college career at the University of Louisville, Rozier was selected by the Warriors with the 16th overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft.

The Bradenton, Fla., native spent the first three seasons of his career with the Golden State Warriors, which ended in 1996 when he was traded to the Orlando Magic.

During his time with the Warriors, Rozier only wore jersey No. 44 and averaged 5.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
