Things have been tough on legal matters for Gervonta “Tank” Davis.
Just a week after Davis was arrested in Miami on charges of battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping, a judge in Baltimore issued a warrant for his arrest in a separate matter.

Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy issued the arrest warrant Monday after being accused of violating probation by the former championship boxer. ESPN first reported the news on Tuesday.
In 2023, Davis was sentenced to three years of probation, 90 days of home detention and 200 hours of community service for a 2020 hit-and-run in Baltimore that injured four people, including a pregnant woman.
Davis ultimately spent six weeks in jail after Handy ruled that Davis violated the terms of his home detention by spending money at the Four Seasons Hotel and a $3.4 million high-rise penthouse instead of approved trainer Calvin Ford’s Baltimore residence.
Davis’ attorney, Hunter Pruette, asked that the warrant for his arrest be dismissed, that a court subpoena be issued, and that GPS monitoring be conducted.

“Mr. Davis appeared as directed, posted bail, complied with all conditions, remained in Florida, and promptly notified regulatory authorities of his arrest,” Pruitt wrote. “Detaining him in Maryland would impair his ability to plead his case in Florida and create significant logistical obstacles to appearing in court, thereby hindering rather than facilitating compliance.”
In Miami, “Tank” was charged by his ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel with assault, false imprisonment and kidnapping, allegedly stemming from an October 27 incident at the gentlemen’s club Tootsies.
Russell claimed Davis attacked her in the back room of the club, then dragged her through the back door and assaulted her in the parking lot.

Police said surveillance video from the club corroborated the victim’s story.
“The investigation determined that Mr. Davis used force as a restraint in an attempt to remove the victim from the scene against her will,” said Miami Gardens Police Department Executive Officer Emmanuel Jeanty.
Russell claimed she was the victim of domestic violence multiple times during her five-month relationship with Davis before the incident.
News of Russell’s claim came to light last October, leading Davis to cancel a lucrative Netflix boxing match with Jake Paul that had been scheduled for November 14 last year.

The alleged October incident was not the first time Davis had been charged with domestic violence. Most recently, the controversial boxer was accused of punching his ex-girlfriend in the back of the head and then slapping her during an argument on Father’s Day. The case was eventually dropped after the woman declined to press charges.
Davis was also stripped of his WBA lightweight belt in January. He has started just two games in the past 34 months, his most recent appearance coming in a controversial draw against Lamont Roach Jr. in March.
