McTavish slid the puck through Devin Cooley’s legs for the penalty kick victory. Joel Farabee and Yegor Sharangovich scored for the Flames in regulation, and Cooley stopped 34 shots.

With 9:19 left in the third quarter, Gauthier’s shot from the right circle went over Cooley’s left slide for his team-leading 28th goal, tying the game at 2. Beckett Senek and Jackson Lacombe assisted.

Calgary forward Morgan Frost was called for an interference penalty with 24.6 seconds left in overtime, but the Ducks failed to score on a brief 4-on-3 advantage.

Anaheim tied the game at 1 with 8:46 left in the second quarter on a smart shot from Gauthier that deflected his own rebound into the back of the Calgary net and fired over the back of Cooley’s left shoulder. The puck bounced into the air, fell, and sailed over Cooley’s back.
