Garmin Venu Sq and Venu Sq Music Edition have been launched as the company’s latest GPS smart watches. The two new models share the same list of specifications-the built-in storage is limited to Venu Sq Music Edition, which is used to directly store music from streaming services such as Amazon Music, Deezer or Spotify. Venu Sq series smart watches are designed to provide you with a list of health monitoring and fitness functions. The smart watch has a pulse oximeter function that can detect blood oxygen levels. The Venu Sq series also provides heart rate and sleep tracking.

The price of Garmin Venu Sq is US$199.99 (approximately Rs 15,000), while the price of Garmin Venu Sq Music Edition in the United States is US$249.99 (approximately Rs 18,500). Venu Sq is available in orchid/metal orchid, white/light gold and shaded gray/slate colors. On the other hand, Venu Sq Music Edition offers light sand/rose gold, navy/light gold, moss/slate and black/slate color options. These smart watches can currently be purchased through the Garmin website.

Garmin Venu Sq and Venu Sq Music Edition have the same specifications, although the latter can store up to 500 songs and can be listened to using Bluetooth headsets and speakers. The wearable device has a 1.3-inch (240×240 pixel) color display with touch support and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective film. The smart watch also has an always-on mode.
In terms of fitness and health functions, the Venu Sq series provides breathing tracking, abnormal heart rate alert, menstrual cycle tracking, sleep analysis, stress tracking and hydration tracking. Garmin also provides four respiratory activity alerts on the smartwatch-tranquility, continuity and two versions of Relax Focus. The data in the Venu Sq series can be viewed through the Garmin Connect app.
The Garmin Venu Sq series is also pre-installed with 20 indoor and outdoor sports applications, including Pilates, yoga, strength training, running, pool swimming, cycling and golf. You can also track the number of steps, intensity minutes and calories burned. In addition, there is a “body battery” energy monitor that allows you to focus on energy levels when planning your next exercise, rest time or sleep.
The Venu Sq series also has a pulse oximeter function, which allows you to track blood oxygen saturation levels. However, it has not been medically tested and “is not intended to be used for diagnosing or monitoring any medical conditions”, just like Apple Watch Series 6, Fitbit Sense, Huawei Watch GT2 and various other smart watches that provide oxygen content measurement.
The Venu Sq series also supports Garmin Pay for contactless NFC-based payments. You can also download the new apps, widgets and watch faces of Venu Sq or Venu Sq Music Edition through the Garmin Connect IQ Store, which can be downloaded on Android and iOS devices.
Garmin provides a 20mm quick release wristband made of silicone with the Venu Sq series, which you can easily replace. The watch measures 40.6×37.0x11.5mm and weighs 37.6 grams. There is a 5ATM waterproof fiber reinforced polymer chassis. In addition, the Venu Sq series is equipped with a built-in battery, which can provide up to 6 days of power in smart watch mode, and can provide up to 14 hours of power in GPS mode.
