The release date for Far Cry 5 Xbox Game Pass has come to an end. The fifth installment of the popular first-person action-adventure shooter Far Cry will be available on Xbox Game Pass on PC, console and cloud on July 1. This means that subscribers will be able to play Far Cry 5 for free on these platforms. The title is only on Xbox Game Pass nearly four years after its 2018 release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft, Far Cry 5 puts you in the role of an unnamed junior deputy sheriff who works with various resistance factions to try to liberate Hope County from the fictional region of Montana, USA. The clutches of a charismatic tyrant named Joseph Seid.

Far Cry 5 Review

Far Cry 5 received generally positive reviews for its visuals and gameplay features. However, most critics weren’t too impressed with the core storyline and character development. There is also a view that it has the potential to be controversial as it explores topics such as religious fanaticism and the rise of far-right political movements in the United States. Nonetheless, Far Cry 5 continues to deliver the best-selling game in Fry Cry history, grossing $310 million (approximately Rs 24.23 crore) in its first week. The overwhelming response to the title paved the way for its 2019 spinoff, Far Cry New Dawn, and its 2021 sequel, Far Cry 6.

In addition to Far Cry 5, soccer game FIFA 22 and Far East legend action game Naraka: Bladepoint are coming to Xbox Game Pass on June 23. Additionally, the sci-fi tabletop role-playing Shadowrun trilogy and strategy game Total War: Three are already available for console and cloud and PC, respectively.
