The question seems so irrelevant now. Guessing is trivial. Even inappropriate given recent events.
This week is expected to be filled with reports and rumors about Tiger Woods making a grand return at the Masters after undergoing a final round of surgeries involving his back and Achilles tendon.

Is he ready? Will he have the stamina to complete the grueling Augusta National course? Will competing in a TGL tournament with limited swings be enough to convince him?
Now, if Tiger is still thinking about the Masters, his priorities are out of whack.
Not only should Tiger not be considering the Masters, but the Masters shouldn't allow Tiger anywhere near Augusta National.

Not at the Champions Dinner. Certainly not swinging a golf club.
If golf is important to Tiger this week, he's going to need more help than we thought.

Because what Tiger Woods should be concerned about right now is his life. Get it back on track. He works harder than he does at the gym or golf course to make sure it stays there.
Tiger Woods needs to prioritize getting help
It has nothing to do with how easy or difficult it is to swing a golf club after his body has endured more trauma than most athletes.
It has nothing to do with his distance or club head speed.
It had to do with his reckless, destructive behavior, and it was only by the grace of God that he did not lose his own life, nor the lives of anyone else.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office released a mugshot of Tiger Woods on March 27, 2026.
Tiger has been involved in two rollover crashes since 2021, and he has been arrested twice on DUI charges since 2017.

The most recent accident was a two-vehicle rollover on a two-lane road in Jupiter Island on Friday, March 27, when Woods was traveling at a high rate of speed while trying to pass a truck towing a trailer. He was not injured. A breathalyser showed there was no alcohol in his system. But after additional tests, he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. Tiger was later held in the Martin County Jail for about eight hours before being released on bond.
Woods was charged with DUI, property damage and refusing to submit to a lawful test.
Wood had his first DUI in Jupiter in May 2017, which should have been a wake-up call. Police found him asleep at the wheel of a damaged 2015 Mercedes-Benz.
The breathalyser also registered an alcohol level of 0.00 at the time, but a subsequent toxicology report revealed a mixture of prescription drugs and other substances in his system.

Woods did not lose his driver's license at the time. In August 2017, he reached a plea agreement on a lesser charge of reckless driving. Two months later, he entered the Palm Beach County First Offender Diversion Program.
He took “full responsibility” and then said:
“I will do everything in my power to make sure this never happens again.”
Jupiter Links GC's Tiger Woods warms up before his match against Los Angeles Golf Club during the TGL Finals at SoFi Center on March 24, 2026 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
He failed. Horrible. After two rollover accidents, including one in Los Angeles, he received preferential treatment and was never tested for any substances in his system. The most recent one was on Jupiter Island.
Now, Woods has apparently made a life-changing, possibly life-saving decision.

He did this after police found him confused, incoherent and intermittently unconscious after an accident outside his home near Orlando in 2009 when he crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. The incident led to the biggest scandal of his life, and his private life was exposed to the world.
He did it after two more serious incidents in Jupiter and Los Angeles counties.
Tiger is as diligent about keeping his personal life private as he is about his putting. He is a control freak, which is not unusual for powerful and famous celebrities.
All could be forgiven if there were a miraculous comeback or two on the golf course, like winning the 2019 Masters.

None of this should happen now.
Unless a tiger asks for help, he is a danger. Even if his high-powered lawyers were able to mitigate this latest incident. Even if he was able to convince some people that it was nothing more than reckless driving and had nothing to do with anything else. This doesn't change what we see.
Unless Tiger gets help, unless he decides to put it all before golf and try to make a comeback again and try to build on his 82 PGA Tour wins and 15 major championships, this is not going to end well.
Tiger is only 50 years old, and he still has a long way to go in his life. If…and he's not a bad guy. He, like millions of Americans, is vulnerable and in need of help. He should not feel weak for making this request.

He is the father of two children, 18-year-old daughter Sam and 17-year-old son Charlie.
Sam attended Stanford University, her father's alma mater. She is interested in psychology and biology. Charlie recently announced that he will be attending Florida State University starting in 2027. He is a third grader at Benjamin School.
Tiger might consider these questions when deciding his next move, as well as whether he wants to see Sam get his college diploma and whether he wants to see Charlie play his first college golf game.
