K’Lavon Chaisson, Jaylinn Hawkins, Austin Hooper, Khyiris Tonga and Vederian Lowe were all unrestricted free agents after last season and have all signed with new teams. Offensive lineman Thayer Munford Jr. is the only unrestricted free agent who has yet to sign with a new team, but he has met with the Tennessee Titans, according to Mike Reiss.
Free agent OT Thayer Munford Jr., who played nine games last season for the Patriots (143 snaps, mostly as an extra-large TE), also visited the Titans. “Mumford was placed on the injured report (knee) late in the season and had surgery at the end of the season,” Rice wrote on Wednesday. “
Mumford has been in the NFL since 2022. He was originally a seventh-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders. He played in 370 games as a rookie but saw a lot of action during his sophomore season. He played in 14 games and his offensive efficiency was as high as 56.6%. He’s not a star, but he’s a solid depth piece for any offensive line.
Mumford was waived by the Raiders in August and signed with the Patriots’ practice squad. The Cleveland Browns signed him to the active roster, but he was waived in October. He re-signed with the practice squad, but the Patriots signed him to the active roster in November.
He could be a cheap addition for the Titans, who are very active in free agency this offseason.
