The FASTag annual pass will be launched to Indian commuters on August 15 to mark the 79th Independence Day. First announced by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in June, it is a cost-effective and more seamless travel solution for frequent commuters. The FASTag-based annual pass can be purchased on a one-time basis for non-commercial private cars, jeeps and goods vehicles, thereby eliminating the need to pay frequent tolls on national highways.

FASTag Annual Pass: Prices, Offers in India

According to MoRTH, the FASTag annual pass will be effective from August 15. It is priced at Rs. 3,000 and is valid for a maximum of 200 times or for one year from the date of activation, whichever comes first. It’s worth noting that crossing a toll plaza will be considered a single trip. Therefore, the annual pass will be valid for crossing 200 toll stations.

Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said the current average cost of crossing a toll plaza is Rs 100. 80 – Rs. 100. But please note that the FASTag annual pass is valid only on national and national highways. The FASTag annual pass is suitable for existing FASTag infrastructure. Therefore, citizens who have already purchased and affixed their FASTag do not need to purchase a separate annual pass. It can be activated on an existing FASTag as long as the required criteria are met.

This includes being correctly affixed to the vehicle’s windscreen, linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN), and not being blacklisted.

Commuters can purchase the FASTag annual pass through the Rajmargyatra mobile app (available on both Android and iOS). Alternatively, they can also visit the official website of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to get the same information.

How to buy FASTag annual pass

  1. Install the Rajmark Yatra app on your mobile device or navigate to the NHAI website
  2. Log in using your mobile number and enter your vehicle and FASTag details
  3. Confirm your eligibility by masking mandatory criteria
  4. Pay Rs. Pay the $3,000 fee through one of the payment gateways provided
  5. Once the payment is completed, the annual pass will be automatically linked to your existing FASTag. Once activated for your vehicle, you will also receive confirmation via text message

Please note that the FASTag Annual Pass is non-transferable and valid only on the affixed and registered vehicle. As per MoRTH regulations, if the pass is used for another vehicle, the pass will be deactivated
