will launch a new program this week to Americans to vote in the upcoming presidential election. This is the latest move by the social network to prove that it is a responsible participant on the Internet.

The technology giant will start a large-scale event on Monday to encourage people to visit its virtual voting information center. They can inquire how to register to vote, how to vote by mail or how to voluntarily work at a polling station on election day.

Marketing activities will be broadcast on major US television and radio channels and online news media.

Since Saturday, Facebook has shared similar information on its app as well as on Instagram and Messenger apps, both of which have.

The Silicon Valley giant also plans to broadcast an hour-long show on Tuesday called “Vote-A-Thon 2020.” The special program will invite celebrities and public figures to participate, and urge people to register and vote.

Facebook estimates that it has helped 2.5 million people register to vote.

Facebook said in a statement: “We have more work to do to achieve our goal of helping four million people register this year, but we are pleased with the progress made in helping people vote with their voices.”

About 39 million people have already visited the virtual voting information centers on Facebook and Instagram.

Through this latest move, Facebook is trying to show that it is no longer a large-scale disinformation method because it won the lead in major votes in 2016, especially the US presidential election and the Brexit referendum.

For example, Facebook announced in early September that in the week the US presidential election on November 3, no new advertisements will be shared on the platform.

Like other Internet giants, in the past few months, Facebook has increased the number of reports about frustrating cyber attacks and destroying false information operations.
