69′ – Wow, Mathews Mane cuts through the backline and then fires a one-on-one shot close to the post, leaving Pickford with no chance. The Blues were beaten by two passes down the middle, with Strand-Larsen picking up an assist. It’s now 1-1.

68′ – In comes forward Strand Larsen, a really dangerous striker for Krejic. Edwards’ offensive change gives them another body in the paint.
65′ – Hill Dickinson is starting to get a little nervous. Grealish immediately won a free-kick deep into the penalty area, was knocked over and then tipped out for a corner.
There was more pressure in the penalty area and Grealish’s shot was blocked before his shot went wide of the near post.
63′ – Chachua wins a corner on Everton’s left side. The ball went into the box and Grealish blocked brilliantly before Joao Gomez burst into the Everton penalty area and Pickford gratefully collected his errant effort.
59′ – Now Everton counterattack, Irogbunam holds the ball too long and the chance is gone.

54′ – The visitors have the ball and attack, and Hwang’s shot is met by a wild shot from Mane who looks to have caught a safe man in the stands.
Now the Blues press high, forcing Wolves to try and play, with Armstrong getting an interception. Everton performed very well and did not sit back and defend their lead.
51 min – Wolves allow Everton to have the ball and their defense is trapped in the third zone. But the Blues couldn’t get into the box. The South Stand behind the goal also became noisy.
46′ – Wolves get us started. They immediately pushed forward and won a throw-in on the right. A long pass from Mosquera ping-ponged around the penalty area before Craigie fell dramatically and Taki headed the ball clear. He was treated for swelling in his upper eye and tested for a concussion. The game resumed after about three minutes.

Half time thoughts – Everton were the better team, the confidence and effort of the players was high and they were undoubtedly rewarded with a goal that didn’t frustrate them which definitely boosted their confidence. The Wolves weren’t a bad team, though, and there was still a full half of the game to go.
45+1′ – One minute of added time, played without further incident, half-time ends. Keane’s wonderful shot gave Everton a 1-0 lead over Wolves.
44′ – Wolves attack from the right and a cross into the box is caught by a Wolves player and the ball bounces off several players, including Taki’s right shoulder. VAR confirmed this.
Oh, Tarkovsky made another mistake. A giveaway near midfield allowed Hwang to charge at the defense, but his shot went wide and relieved the pressure. other I have to say, Taki’s mistake.

Keane headed a long ball but a defender cleared before Tarky could pounce.
38′ – Armstrong won over many Evertonians with his efforts today. Mosquera stepped in at the corner flag and caused problems for the Wolves defense.
Wolves fought back down the other side, needing Taki and Keane to deal with the burly Arokodare who kept scurrying around.
35′ – Everton force Wolves to defend more with a cross into the box. Sa was forced to make a save, and Wolves finally came to the rescue.

33′ – Everton’s two wingers also work hard defensively. Grealish turned around to cover Maico’s cross, and then McNeill on the other side made a header pass to stop the attack.
Evertonian Stephen Jones, a 33-year-old football fan, died in a traffic accident last weekend. There was a huge ovation and then cheers for him and his family.
30′ – Chance for Wolves. They found a man at the back and allowed Bueno to cut in and shoot, but Jobe pushed him as he shot and the ball went wide of the target.
29′ – Ireg Boonan charges down the left and is fouled on the penalty area line. This time the Ghanaian inside player, Keane, rose highest and made solid contact.. Serve! Back from the far upright, Wolves clear, oh well.

22′ – Shot opportunity. McNeil was blocked outside the penalty area and passed to Miko, who also attempted a shot but missed the post.
Mosquera received a pass from Grealish and received another free kick, similar to the source of the goal. McNeil went deep again, clearing. Garner ran into space from Grealish but was unable to get the ball back into the box.
21′ – Armstrong plays a nice triangle and almost gets into the box, but doesn’t get a good touch on the ball. Wolves tried to score but Garner ended the game with a professional foul and was lucky not to receive a yellow card.
16′ – Irogbunam moves into space and draws a foul. A free kick from the edge of the final third and here’s the chance. McNeil’s long-range shot was partially cleared, and Irogbunam’s shot was cleverly diverted by Keane! Everton’s best finisher takes a corner kick and Everton leads 1-0!

15′ – Armstrong looks comfortable. Played a one-two with McNeil, got blocked, then spun his mark down the middle and drew a foul. Very composed on the ball.
10′ – Everton look nervous tonight.
The Blues dealt with a long ball and Grealish fed Irogbonam and bombed down the left, but his pass into the middle was poor.
8′ – Grealish crosses to Armstrong, the defender heads the ball in and the ball is passed to Irogbunam but his volley is wayward. The Blues’ first shot on goal.
6′ – Mykolenko heads the ball back to Pickford and Arokodal does come in, which could be a problem.

4′ – It certainly looks like a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Armstrong wearing the number 10 shirt he played for Preston.
1′ – The Toffees start the game. It will be interesting to see where Armstrong plays and whether the Blues stick to a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Starting lineup
everton – Moyes keeps the backline intact but with Dieblin on the bench and Armstrong in the No. 10 spot.
Wolves – The same lineup they had when they got their first win of the season
Game preview
Everton play their second successive league game at home today but will be hoping for a very different result to their defeat to Brentford at the weekend. The Toffees will host Premier League bottom side Wolves, who recorded their first league win at the weekend.

David Moyes will not have any players returning from the long-term injury list or from the Africa Cup of Nations, but given that some of Sunday’s starters will have little impact on the pitch, he should consider reshuffling his starting XI.
Rob Edwards will take it game by game for Wolves and we can expect the visitors to adopt the same tactics as those used by Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle and Brentford in their impressive wins at New Hill Dickinson Stadium, focusing first on getting set-pieces into the six-yard box.

last meeting
The two sides have met twice this season, both times at Molineux. The Blues won the league match 3-2 with goals from Beto, Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but just a month later a heavily rotated side lost 2-0 to the same opponents in the Carabao Cup.
