Electronic Arts has detailed the battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 and announced a community test for it. The mode will feature 100 players, new dedicated maps, vehicles and destructible environments, EA said in a statement on Thursday. The publisher will begin player testing of Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode this week.

According to EA, the mode will be “built on Battlefield’s unique DNA” and will be available for testing this week to players who sign up for Battlefield Labs. The publisher says it will gather feedback from community playtests to further refine the battle royale mode before release. In a blog post on the Battlefield 6 website, EA detailed the features that will be available during the beta this week.

Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Mode Features

Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode will feature a dedicated new map containing various tactical points of interest. The mode will also come with vehicles for faster transportation around the map. Players can also unlock armored heavy vehicles, giving them an advantage against other players. EA did not clarify whether the mode will include fighter jets or helicopters.

The battle royale mode will also feature the series’ signature environmental destruction feature, allowing players to knock down entire buildings and create new paths. This mode will support 100 players and 25 four-person teams competing to win. In addition to the mobile redeployment option, support-level players will also be able to revive fallen teammates.

Players in a squad can choose which class they deploy. The mode will keep classes flexible, allowing players to join a balanced squad made up of four different classes, or a squad made up of a single class. Classes cannot be changed once the match has started. During the match, when players defeat opponents or complete tasks, they will be able to level up by earning XP.

EA says that Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode will feature “the deadliest ring in BR” that will instantly kill players on contact.

“As fire approaches, emergency warnings will sound, and as the game space shrinks, soldiers will be forced into more intense firefights,” EA said. “You can’t jump in and out, use it as cover, or walk through it—if you’re trapped inside, you’re screwed. We’re excited to see how the ring affects the pace of the game and how it creates spontaneous showdowns.”

The battle royale mode will feature five tiers of weapons as well as attachments, projectiles, gadgets, attack packs, armor, upgrade sets, and custom weapon drops. The mode will also come with missions, where squads can complete objectives for additional rewards.

Testing of Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode begins this week. EA said it will share more details once testing is complete. Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
