The Dragon House Episode 8 trailer has been released. HBO dropped a trailer for next week’s Game of Thrones prequel series, heralding a fight for the Driftmark throne following an unspecified injury to Lord Corlys Velaryon. Titled “Lord of the Tides,” “House of the Dragon” episode 8 picks up a little bit after the melee in Sailor Kingdom, which brought suspended animation and the beginning of conflict. Dragon House Episode 8 premieres on Disney+ Hotstar and HBO Max on October 10 at 6:30AM ET / October 9 at 9PM ET.
The trailer for Episode 8 of House of the Dragon begins with a seemingly tiny time jump that puts Otto Hightower (Rhys Evans) back in power as the Hand of the King. Given the unexplained absence of King Viserys (Paddy Considine), he has now designated himself interim ruler. “As a hand, I speak in the voice of the king on this and all other matters,” he declared to the court. Princess Rhaenyra (Emma Darcy), apparently disturbed by the change in power, calls the Hightowers “vipers” as they prepare for their first blow from the next day. “Then go to King’s Landing,” Prince Damon (Matt Smith) told Rhaenyra — the two reunited in the final episode, ending their relationship with a kiss.
The two appear to be planning some sort of attack, and the events of Episode 7 act as catalysts – Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), Alysent’s second son, loses his eyes in a melee at Driftmark. This makes Rhinela and Queen Allison (Olivia Cooke) sworn enemies, urging the latter to take a dagger and take revenge on the young culprit. The Dragon House episode 8 trailer then shifts the focus to the Kingdom of Sailors, where Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) aka Sea Serpent is “severely wounded”, rendering him incapacitated. Seduced by the opportunity, his brother Vaemond (Wilbert Charles Johnson) decides to make a claim for it.
“The crown cannot stand if the dragon’s family remains divided,” Viserys said in a voiceover, with the threat of war looming. In the final moments of the “Dragon House” episode 8 trailer, Daemon is examining a dragon egg while Amond orders the attack on Rhaenyra’s children, known as bastards because of their dark hair.
New “House of the Dragon” episodes air every Monday at 6:30am on Disney+ Hotstar in India and Sunday at 9pm ET on HBO Max. Season 1 consists of 10 episodes.
