Donald Trump has raised eyebrows by bragging about the way U.S. troops have wiped out Iranian ships.
Trump posted on his Truth social platform on Sunday:
“I just learned that we have destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian naval vessels, some of them relatively large and important. We are pursuing the rest – they will soon be floating on the bottom of the sea too!”
Critics were quick to seize on the wording, pointing out that ships that sink usually don’t float.

The boast comes as the U.S. military continues to escalate major combat operations in the country that began on Saturday.
During the operation, three U.S. troops were killed and five were seriously injured. Trump acknowledged there could be more casualties in the conflict, which he said could last a month.
