Chris Cyborg says there’s no way Ronda Rousey would agree to get in the ring with Katie Taylor.
A Rousey vs. Taylor boxing match might make sense to Netflix executives who know nothing about combat sports, but to those with the most basic understanding of Rousey’s strengths and weaknesses, it’s little more than a farce.

Ronda has never been a strong forward and recently revealed that a career riddled with concussions has left her unable to take stabs in training. That doesn’t stop most boxers we know from accepting eight-figure purses to fight, but former opponent Cris Cyborg knows all too well how much Rousey hates losing.
Cyborg’s showdown with Rousey was one of the biggest fights in MMA over a decade ago, but it never came together due to Ronda’s refusal to fight Chriss. Cyborg had twice cut down to 140 pounds for the UFC in hopes of setting up a superfight between the two, but that never came to fruition.
“I once saw Ronda Rousey shadow boxing and her shadow won!” Cyborg quipped on X (formerly Twitter). “There’s zero chance of her ever boxing.”

“Maybe back in the cage for the Gina Carano fight,” Cyborg added. “But Ronda doesn’t belong anywhere near the ring.”
Yes, that’s right: Gina Carano is also back in the gym training again, fueling speculation that a Carano-Rusey fight could be on the horizon again.
One thing to note: No one is talking about the Cris Cyborg vs. Ronda Rousey match, even though it was a most legitimate match. That’s because we know it will never happen, and we also know why it won’t happen: The robot is so awesome that no one wants to fight her.
Instead, Cyborg will face Sara Collins in a PFL Europe 4 match on December 13. We’ll see what happens with Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey.
