Last week, a Florida woman was found dead after a friend told police she received a concerning phone call.
Lily Z. Yard, 27, was found dead in her home in Sarasota, Florida, on February 22, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said in a press statement last week.
Yarde’s partner, Jordan M. Rouff, 40, was found with a gunshot wound that police determined was self-inflicted, the statement said.
Roof was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, Yarde was shot in the head. Roof also shot himself in the head.
Investigators said the couple had an on-again, off-again relationship and had recently moved in together.
The Sheriff’s Department said a concerned officer requested a welfare check on the couple earlier in the day after receiving a call from a friend who made “unusual and concerning” comments.
