Could kicking off after Manchester City cost Arsenal?

There seems to be a divide within our fanbase about how win-or-win the title fight actually is. Some Gooners are trying to warn our peers about how quickly dynamics can change in sports and how important mindset is at the highest level.

How you view our performance on Thursday will depend on your view of the title race.

Those who think the Gunners have single-handed control of the Premier League will say it’s just a coincidence that we looked scared in the second half at Brentford, with the home side looking more likely to win, Raya looking uneasy and our manager looking as pale as a ghost.

I saw a correlation between our performance and the fact that we started playing 24 hours after watching our opponent win.

missed opportunity

Just like so many players were absent against Manchester United the day after City’s win. Like later that day, when City lost the Manchester derby, we didn’t train the Forest goalkeeper enough. Just like the day after Manchester City were held to a draw by Brighton, the Emirates Stadium was paralyzed with anxiety.

If you compared these games to other winning performances, what would be the main differences? On those occasions, the league leaders kick off ahead of Manchester City.

Sometimes in football, you need luck. This includes the schedule.

Interesting schedule

Due to the Carabao Cup final, our match against Wolves has been moved forward to next Wednesday.

After that, Arsenal will face Manchester City on 3 of the next 4 match days. We didn’t start at the same time.

As of April, it has yet to be announced who will play on which day/time.

Some fans thought the game was played on paper. Of course we should beat Tottenham, Everton and Chelsea because we have better players. However, that’s not the case at this time of year, and not if you’re under pressure to keep playing after teams hunt you down.

We haven’t won this situation the last four times. The performance of all 4 people was very poor.

coincide?

So here are some simple rules that I have to insist that commenters follow…

You agree not to make any personal attacks on other Arsenal fans. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion, even if you disagree with them. It doesn’t cost anything to be polite to other Arsenal fans.
