Texas’ College Football Playoff hopes were dashed Sunday morning as the final playoff rankings were announced. The Longhorns finished the season with a 10-3 record, losing to Ohio State, Florida State and Georgia.

Texas is expected to play in the Cheez-It Bowl, where the Longhorns are expected to face Michigan State to close out the 2025 season.
The year marked freshman quarterback Archie Manning’s first season at the helm. Texas made the College Football Playoff in each of the previous two seasons under former starter Quinn Ewers, but fell short of another berth this year.
