Citroen India partners with Jio-Bp to boost EV infrastructure, services

Citroen India on Friday announced a strategic partnership with Jio-Bp, the fuel and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries (RIL) and bp, to build electric vehicle infrastructure and services across its network.

“Jio-Bp will install DC fast chargers in phases at Citroen’s key dealer network and workshops across the country,” Jio-Bp and Citroen India said in a joint statement.

According to the statement, these chargers will also be available to the entire EV customer base to help increase consumer EV adoption.

The launch of the new Citroen e-C3 all-electric vehicle is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023, and the joint venture said the partnership will ensure that Jio-bp’s charging infrastructure network is accessible through the My Citroen Connect app.

Jio-Bp currently operates a rapidly expanding network of EV charging and switching stations under the Jio-Bp pulse brand.

All of Jio-Bp’s Pulse products can be accessed through its mobile app, helping customers easily find nearby EV charging stations and facilitating digital payments, among other things, the statement noted.

Driven by its vision to become one of the largest EV charging networks in India, Jio-BP said it is creating an EV ecosystem that benefits stakeholders across the EV value chain and expanding its Jio-BP by establishing charging The pulse-branded electric vehicle charging network has facilities at multiple touchpoints within cities and major highways to ensure smooth intra-city and intercity commutes for electric vehicle owners.

Reliance BP Mobility (RBML), operating under the Jio-Bp brand, is an Indian fuel and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries (RIL) and bp. RBML provides its customers with advanced mobility solutions and alternative fuel options such as Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points and Battery Swap Stations (BSS).
