Capcom Moves Up Pragmata Release Date, Will Now Launch on April 17

Capcom has moved up the release date for its upcoming sci-fi action-adventure game Pragmata. The company announced during last week’s Capcom Spotlight livestream that Pragmata, originally scheduled to launch on April 24, will now launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch 2 a week early on April 17.

Pragmata gets new release date

Although Capcom did not disclose the reason for changing the game’s release date, considering that Sony’s action-adventure game “Saros” will launch on PS5 on April 30, the move provides Pragmata with a longer runway after release.

Capcom also announced that digital Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders for Pragmata will be canceled due to the new release date.

“We are excited to bring you Pragmata one week early, on April 17. Due to the change in release date, all existing digital pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 version in North America and Europe will be automatically cancelled,” Capcom said in an update to X.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will consider placing a new pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2.”

Pragmata also received a new trailer during the Capcom Spotlight livestream, which contains new story and gameplay details from the game. Pragmata is a new IP from Capcom that tells the story of Hugh Williams and his robot companion Diana as they navigate a dangerous lunar research station.

The game focuses on third-person shooting and hacking. Robot companion Diana cracks the enemy’s armor by completing puzzles, then Hugh destroys them with his firearm. He can carry four different types of weapons.

Diana and Hugh must also work together to explore the research station. Robots can hack security systems, open new passages and unlock doors.
