Cameron Boozer leads No. 4 Duke to 67-49 victory over Boston College

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Cameron Boozer had 19 points and 12 rebounds as No. 4 Duke extended its tenth straight win with a 67-49 victory over Boston College on Tuesday night.

Isaiah Evans scored 12 points for the Blue Devils (21-1 ACC, 10-0 ACC), which has the lowest scoring team in the league this season but still has a comfortable win heading into Saturday’s game against rival North Carolina.

Boston College (9-13, 2-7) has lost three straight and seven of nine, tying its season low in points. Fred Payne scored 14 points for the Eagles, who are 0-4 against ranked opponents over the past month.

Boozer, a freshman who became the nation’s leading scorer with 23.5 points per game, made 3 of 9 shots in the second half but ended up with a season-high five steals.

Duke led the way with 13 points (Boozer scored seven) and built an 18-point lead going into halftime with a 42-27 lead after Boozer drove to the basket for a Thunder dunk. The Blue Devils shot 60.7 percent from the field during that period.

Boston College shot 5-for-20 from 3-point range and 4-for-9 from the free throw line and has never won in 15 visits to Durham.

Boston College will face Miami on Saturday for the first of three straight home games.

Duke will visit No. 14 North Carolina on Saturday.
