Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown has been named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 22-28, according to a press release from the team. This is the sixth honor of the Georgia native’s NBA career and second this month as Brown was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 7-13.
The move came after the Cal alum scored 30 points in a game for the ninth time this month, tying the franchise record set by Boston Hall of Fame small forward Larry Bird. In the week of winning the award, Brown averaged 32.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game, shooting 55.9% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the three-point line, and 80.0% from the free throw line.
