ideas and predictions

Indiana has suffered several big losses since the start of the year. UCLA transfer Zania Socka-Nguemen scored 19 points on 9-for-12 shooting while grabbing 11 rebounds in Lincoln’s win against the Huskers, one of five Big Ten games she played before exiting with an injury. She has not competed since Jan. 22. Indiana was also affected by the departure of Valentyna Kadlecova, who returned to her native Czech Republic after her first semester. Kadlezova started 10 of the first 11 games.

The Husker women’s team has regained some confidence after back-to-back wins, including a resounding win over Rutgers on Senior Day. The Huskers needed to hit the boards and flip the Indians over to take control of the game. Indiana has negative rebounding and turnover margins this season. They do have explosive scorers, especially Shay Ciezki, but they are also a young team whose inexperience can sometimes make the best players out of them.

Prediction: Nebraska 76, Indiana 71
