Battlefield 6’s ‘Winter Offensive’ Update Launches This Week With New Content, Audio Improvements and More

Battlefield 6’s next big post-launch update is coming this week. Electronic Arts has released the patch notes for update 1.1.3.0, detailing new content, improvements, and fixes for the military shooter. Dubbed “Winter Offensive,” the new content will be the third major addition to Battlefield 6 since its launch on October 10. This update will add new limited-time maps, modes, and more to the game.

EA shared details about the 1.1.3.0 update on the Battlefield 6 website on Friday. In addition to the Winter Offensive content, the update will bring a host of improvements, including the much-requested better hit recording, improved weapon handling, and better visibility of soldiers at close range.

As part of the Winter Offensive update, new content will include Ice-Locked Empire State, a new limited-time map that covers the existing Empire State map with snow. The update will also add a limited-time themed even mode in the Ice-Locked Empire State, covering Domination, Conquest and Challenge mission variants, and feature a new “Freeze” mechanic.

Winter Offensive also includes a new weapon: the Ice Climbing Ax; an update to Portal Mode; and a limited-time bonus Battle Pass.

Battlefield Update 1.1.3.0 Details

Key improvements brought by update 1.1.3.0 include better hit recording, enhanced soldier visibility at close range, improved weapon handling for more consistent accuracy, improved gadget reliability, better vehicle clarity and interactivity, updated map layout for Breach and Sprint modes, and improved audio feedback.

The update also brings extensive audio improvements to Battlefield 6, making the game more readable for players. This includes footsteps, vehicle audio, combat sounds, and more.

Finally, the update also includes a series of fixes for player behavior, vehicles, weapons, gadgets, maps and modes, UI and HUD, progression, as well as fixes for Redsec, Battlefield 6’s free battle royale mode.

Update 1.1.3.0 and the Winter Assault content will be released to Battlefield 6 players on December 9th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.

Battlefield 6 launched on October 10 and has since received two major content updates – Rogue Ops and California Resistance. Both updates added new maps, modes, weapons, and vehicles to the game. Free-to-play battle royale mode Redsec was released on October 28th alongside the first post-launch update.
